Star Wars has brought us not just series of great movies but also the advanced technological possibilities that scientists and engineers are aiming for. One of them is the famous speeder bikes which translate to today’s HOVERSURF Scorpion 3.
HoverSurf is a Russian startup company who aims to revolutionize human mobility through their Scorpion 3 (S-3) platform for hoverbike, drone-car, drone-taxi, and cargo-drone.
The Scorpion 3 is an actual flying motorcycle and “the first fully-manned hoverbike”, which means the pilot has full control.
Though Scorpion 3 is still a prototype, it speeds up to 60 mph and like a drone, it can be controlled remotely.
Most of all, it is equipped with a safety system which is powered by state of the art flight controllers, special logical programming and passive elements with computer aided speed and altitude limiting.
See the Hoverbike Scorpion 3 in action:
“SCORPION platform is a single-seat aircraft that rediscovers the art of flying and hovering enabling a hi-tech quadcopter-based solution. It’s a unique electric-powered vessel combining a motorcycle seat with quadcopter drone technology bringing speed agility and stability of flight to the hands of amateur and professional navigators. For the moment, SCORPION platform is increasingly seen as an extreme sports instrument, yet the vessel’s transportation potential remains evident.”
