- Momo was created by Midori Hayashi, a Japanese Doll Artist.
- Eyes bulging out of their sockets with a crooked smile.
- Subtle face with long black hair.
- Below it’s twisted face is a mixture of human and animal parts.
The sinister looking doll was actually sculpted for Link Factory, a Japanese special effects company. The title of this artwork is Mother Bird and was on display at Tokyo’s horror art Vanilla Gallery.
This frightening Momo, who has been described as the Slenderman of 2018, was never intended to cause mayhem on the internet.
Midori is famous for creating atypical dolls. Usually a lifelike human face on a body of different animals or insects and some are horror related.
The challenge — Allegedly, linked to the death of a 12-year-old girl from Escobar, Argentina. According to reports, this online challenge has already attracted kids in the United States, Argentina, France, Mexico and Germany.
Reports from local news says that after examining the girls phone, police are now questioning an 18-year-old the girl allegedly met on social media by the victim.
“The phone has been hacked to find footage and WhatsApp chats, and now the alleged adolescent with whom she exchanged those messages is being sought,” police said in a statement.
They believe the teenager’s intention was to “upload the video to social media as part of a challenge, crediting the Momo game” for the suicide.
Other people have claimed their interactions with Momo included being sent violent images during the night and the unknown person threatening to appear while they are sleeping and curse them.
