In a village of Chirka close to the Republic of Dagestan in south-western Russia, a sheep farmer had been waiting for his prized ewe to give birth but was shocked when it finally came out.

Mr. Blasius Lavrentiev who raises sheep for a living had a tough winter and when he noticed one of his sheep was pregnant he was delighted as it meant he would be able to sell the lambs and start making some money again. But to his surprise, he saw something that nearly killed him from disbelief…

He said, “when I went down to see how it was going I nearly died from shock when I saw what looked like the hairy face of an old man staring up at me.”

But according to a 49-year-old local vet named Dorofei Gavrilov, the rare sheep is just a result of too much vitamin A being given to the lamb’s mother by the farmer.

However, the owner’s sudden misfortune turns to a lotto winning ticket when he was offered by a local circus 10 times the normal price of the lamb. Several other proposals have also come in since then.

The grumpy human-face looking lamb became the center of attraction of the village. Dementi Galkin, 65, neighbor said: “I’ve seen some weird stuff in my time, but nothing like this. She looks like an angry old man with a big nose.”

Dana Mishina, 56, a villager also said: “She is both freaky and sweet. “I don’t know what to make of it really. But she terrifies my grandchildren.”It will be interesting to see what she looks like when she gets older.”

But proud owner Mr. Blasius Lavrentiev has something to say, he said, “Whatever has caused it she’s a little beauty and I definitely won’t be selling her for anyone’s dinner table either as the buyers want her on display.

“She’ll be staying with us until then.”

Sometimes all it needs is an absolute acceptance and love to be able to see the inner beauty and blessings behind any deformities.
