A medical student was hailed hero for responding to an emergency call after an elderly man with heart condition suddenly collapsed at the Jinzhou South Railway Station platform.
- A college student missed the train home after PA system announce that an old with the heart disease collapsed.
- Ding Hui, a medical student, jumped into action performed CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on to the old man.
- 10 minutes later, he finally come around and was safe.
Ding Hui, is a medical student at Jinzhou Medical University in China and is waiting for her train home when she heard about the incident.
The PA system was asking for help for an old man who suddenly collapsed at the train station platform and in need of immediate medical attention.
While many of the commuters hurriedly called emergency services and others just helplessly watching the old man, Hui leaped into action quickly performed CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
After terrifying 10 minutes, the unidentified man who is believed to have heart disease finally regains consciousness.
Despite missing her train home, Hui remained with the elderly man ensuring his safety until the paramedics arrived to look after him before going back to wait for the next train home.
Hui said, “It is our duty as medical staff to rescue those who are in danger.”
The old man’ son offered to give Hui 2,000 yuan ($295) as a reward and compensation for missing her train, but the soon to be doctor declined it.
“If it weren’t for her, my dad would’ve been gone… She wouldn’t accept the money and wouldn’t leave her name. We only found her again when the video was posted online,” said the old man’s son.

Ding Hui refusal of monetary reward gained her praised and admiration which made the old man’s family and the train station to wrote a letter of recommendation to Ding’s university for her heroic act.
